IIT Kanpur and Villgro Innovations Foundation , under the INVENT Social Incubation Program (a joint initiative of UK Government + Government of India) has organized ‘UNCONVENTION SoCha’, an annual social enterprise conference that seeks to unearth and nurture impact entrepreneurs to grow the social enterprise movement in India.

UNCONVENTION SoCha was a half day conference with an objective to showcase opportunities in social enterprise sector and inspire more people to take up social entrepreneurship. Event participants had an opportunity to listen to the inspiring stories of social entrepreneurs and network with various stakeholders. As part of UNCONVENTION event, a social enterprise pitch competition was conducted. The objective was to recognize and support early stage social enterprises. In this event, budding entrepreneurs got to pitch their business ideas to an expert panel and won a cash prizes, an opportunity to get incubated at IIT Kanpur and eventually to get seed-funded under the INVENT program.

The event finale was scheduled on 28th August, 2016 at the campus of IIT Kanpur starting at 1400 hrs.
